The University of Maine Corps of Cadets has excelled on this campus since 1869, and now you have the opportunity to become part of the tradition. Instruction consists of both classroom and practical training with a focus on management skills. It is geared toward developing leadership potential, and preparing students to be the future leaders of the Army. Upon successful completion of college, coupled with Army ROTC, you will receive a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, the Army Reserve, or the National Guard.

You will find that The University of Maine provides a setting that is conducive to learning and achieving your goals. It houses the state’s largest library, and is home to the William S. Cohen Center for International Policy and Commerce. The University of Maine is a Land Grant University offering all major concentrations of study. Founded in 1865, it is the flagship university of the Maine State University System. The campus is located eight miles north of the state’s third largest city, Bangor, in a predominately rural area. The university system consists of five colleges on 660 acres along the Stillwater River.

The University of Maine offers the only Army ROTC program in the state; however, we have five active partnership agreements. These agreements allow students enrolled in partnership schools to enroll in Army ROTC through The University of Maine while pursuing their studies at another school. Students attending partnership schools are still eligible for scholarship benefits. Our partnership schools include; Colby College, Thomas College, Unity College, Husson College, and the University of Maine Augusta.

When you choose The University of Maine and Army ROTC you will find out why it is "Unlike any other college course you can take."
