Whether you’re a college-bound high school student, attending the University of Maine, or an enlisted soldier, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s merit and grades, not financial need.

Army ROTC scholarships are valuable in many ways:

  • Two-, three-, and four-year scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree
  • 100% tuition and fees scholarships
  • Additional allowances for books
  • If you already have a Full-tuition scholarship, you can use the scholarship to cover your room and board, either on or off campus

Living Expenses (Cadet STIPEND):

Army ROTC scholarships also provide monthly living allowances for each school year. You can earn certain amounts depending on your level in the Army ROTC curriculum:

  • 1st year $300 per month
  • 2nd year $350 per month
  • 3rd year $450 per month
  • 4th year $500 per month

This allowance is also available to all non-scholarship Cadets enrolled in the Army ROTC Advanced Course (3rd and 4th year).

$2500.00 UMaine Grant for 4-Year Scholarship Applicants:

The University of Maine awards $2500.00 grants to 4-Year scholarship winners who accept their Army ROTC scholarship and are accepted to UMaine prior to 1 April of their senior year in high school.  Students must have a SAT score of 1100 (ACT of 24) and in the top 20% of their high school class or determined to have a competitive GPA by UMaine Admissions.  This award continues each year so long as the student remains in ROTC, maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 with no semester falling below 2.0.
