The Advanced Structures and Composites Center’s Resin Infusion Composites Reliability (RICoR) Laboratory creates an integrated system for strictly controlled process development and fabrication of composite material parts and structural prototypes. The RICoR lab is a unique and important R&D resource. The lab's environmental enclosure is designed to cover a wide range of processing conditions that may be encountered in composites fabrication, such as high/low ambient temperature and high/low RH. The lab allows faculty researchers to work with teams of undergraduate and graduate students in R&D projects supported by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research and the Army Corps of Engineers Research and Development Center among others. The Center researchers have been able to develop fundamental knowledge regarding fiber-reinforced polymer composite manufacturing processes and applications using the RICoR lab facilities.
