Xenia Rofes, Structural Engineer II

Xenia Rofes grew up near Barcelona, Spain. She went to the University of Washington where she obtained a double major in Mathematics and Civil Engineering in 1994, and proceeded with a Masters in Structural engineering in 1996 (thesis-Analysis of Lightly Reinforced Concrete Column.) She has also taught a graduate level class (twice) at the University of Maine in Structural Designs Loads per the ASCE 7-05 Code.

She has worked in many disciplines in engineering, ranging from bridge structures, to hydraulic dams, and also multi-story buildings. She worked at AIT for the design and implementation of Bridge- in-a-Backpack where she gained knowledge with composites. She currently works with fixture design and structural testing at the UMaine Composites Center.

She is proficient in Spanish and Catalan and enjoys yearly summer family vacations in her homeland.
