Andean Past is a peer-reviewed journal published approximately bi-ennially. Each volume consists of papers on Andean archaeology and ethnohistory; ethnohistorical contributions are limited to those directly concerned with the Pre-Columbian peoples of the Andes. Andean Past is edited at the University of Maine and is published by the Cornell University Latin American Studies Program. Volume 1 was issued in 1987.

The language of publication is English, but papers may be submitted to Andean Past in either English or Spanish. The Editorial staff will translate final versions of accepted papers from Spanish into English at no charge to the author(s). Submission style should follow the Latin American Antiquity style guide (LAA 3: 259-280 [1992]). Submissions may be sent to either of the editors:
