Study in Anthropology and Archaeology The Department of Anthropology cooperates with the Climate Change Institute (formerly the Institute for Quaternary and Climate Studies) and the Department of History to train graduate students in prehistoric archaeology, historical archaeology, and certain other specialized areas of anthropology. Application is made through these cooperating units. For those interested in graduate work in anthropological archaeology the university offers a Master of Science in Climate Studies with a specialty in prehistoric archaeology. In cooperation with this department, the Department of History offers graduate degrees with a specialization in historical archaeology including the Historical Archaeology M.A. Option. Graduate degrees in geoarchaeology are possible through collaborative efforts with the departments of anthropology and geology.
