Cutler Health Center – Did you knows:

  • Cutler Health Center, a subsidiary of Eastern Maine Medical Center, is open to all students including graduate students.
  • They accept all forms of health insurance including the University health insurance offered to graduate students who are teaching assistants or research assistants.
  • They do accept MaineCare.
  • You can use your Black Bear Bucks for co-pay payments.
  • Have financial difficulties? You may be eligible for assistance to pay your Cutler medical bills from the financial aid office. (There are also other programs available – just ask)
  • There is always a qualified physician on duty.
  • Conveniently located on Long Road, they offer flexible hours on Monday-Friday to best meet students’ needs. Students who need an appointment on Saturday (from 8 -5) will be scheduled for one at EMMC Orono Family Medicine on Kelley Road in Orono. Students can also be treated at EMMC’s The Clinic at Walmart with locations in Bangor and Brewer, as well as EMMC Walk-In Care for more urgent healthcare needs and EMMC’s Emergency Department.
  • If you do not have transportation and need to use one of off campus facilities (say in case of emergency) transportation is easily arranged (and free) via taxi cab.
  • Services available include:
    • Allergy shots
    • Ambulance services
    • Foreign travel medicine
    • Immunizations
    • Lab services
    • Minor surgery
    • Nurse triage
    • Physical exams
    • Women’s healthcare
    • X-ray
    • Specialty services such as massage therapy, optometry, orthopedics and podiatry are also offered.
