INNOVATION ENGINEERING™ III: MAKING YOUR IDEA REAL

Credit hours: 3
Gen Ed credits: Social Contexts & Institutions
Prerequisites: None; INV 280 and INV 282 recommended

How do you turn an idea from your head into a working prototype?  Is your design flexible enough to be used by people with a wide range of skills and physical capabilities?  In this course, we’ll explore how to create models for an idea using paper, computers, and other materials to find the flaws of a design quickly and inexpensively.  We’ll work with real product and service ideas and challenges to create prototypes.  We’ll build a foundation of guiding principles that will help our ideas relate to concepts of universal design, green principles and overarching ethical considerations.
