Getting your work published may seem like a daunting task, and that’s why we’re going to help you break it down. At this Snack & Yack, published authors will be present to give ideas about how to get published and also the many options available, such as self-publishing, blogging, and freelancing. Networking and the Elevator Pitch Learn the value of networking when searching for jobs, starting a business, and relocating. Charlsye Diaz and Renee Kelly will discuss tools and techniques to be comfortable in a crowd as well as how to present yourself effectively. Good networking skills are essential to anyone’s success, and with this Snack & Yack’s invaluable advice you will gain a much deeper understanding of this vital process! Credit 101: Why It's Important to Build Good Credit Now Chris Winstead of Bangor Savings Bank will discuss the importance of credit now and the importance later when buying a house or owning a business. This Snack & Yack will focus on understanding how we build credit, how to read a credit report, and how to establish reserves for both business and personal use. Come learn what you need to know to apply for a business loan or mortgage loan, and find out how important good credit really is! Invention Protection Rita Heimes from the University of Maine School of Law Center for Law & Innovation will talk about how to protect your idea or invention.
