Letter  from Richard W. Rosen State Representative to Bucksport
http://janus.state.me.us/house/hsebios/roserw.htm

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It is an honor to represent the residents of my hometown in Augusta. I am very proud to be given the opportunity to better understand your commitment to Bucksport and work to support your efforts to improve our community.

As a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Utilities and Energy, I realize the importance of the restructuring of the electric industry to our community. The breakup of the electric utilities and the arrival of natural gas provide Bucksport the opportunity for price competition, and choice of our energy sources.

I look forward to the continuing work with members of the Town Council, School Board and interested citizens on support for our school system, state highway improvements, and economic development-job creation projects.

I appreciate you taking the time to write letters, make phone calls and send e-mail to me with information and input. Your active participation helps me carry out the job of representing the people of Bucksport.

Sincerely,

Richard Rosen
State Representative

Letter from Senator Richard P. Ruhlin State Senator to Bucksport
http://www.state.me.us/legis/senate/senators/bios/bio06s.htm

Dear Friend

As the business of the First Regular Session of the 119th Maine Legislature gets underway, I am honored to be serving you in the Maine Senate and look forward to your continued interest in our state government. I urge you to contact me to share your opinions and thoughts on legislation that comes before us over the course of the next few months.

The issues we face bring many new challenges. As the role and scope of government change on all levels, we will be asked to find creative solutions to ongoing problems and to do more with less. One of our most important challenges will be to help Maine families prosper by finding sensible solutions to grow the Maine economy and stabilize our state's revenue base.

In addition, we will work toward finding new ways to prepare our children today to meet the challenges of tomorrow in a global economy. Many bills are coming before us that will ask us not only to demand results from our children and schools, but also to provide the necessary support for teachers.

Lastly, we hope to improve the quality of our environment by finding a sensible balance between protecting our forests and our economy. Making government work again for the people of Maine means we must be more careful with their tax dollars and set priorities that are in line with Maine values. That's why addressing the viability of Maine's economy and environment, and academic excellence for our children, is so important.

As always, my door is open to municipal officials and the citizens of our district. It continues to be a privilege to be serving you in the Maine Senate. If I can be of assistance or provide you with information on bills before us or on a government agency or program, I hope you will not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at the State Capitol (287-1515), or by message on the Senate toll free line (1-800-423-6900)

Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 1999!

Sincerely,

Richard "Dick" Ruhlin
State Senator
