CDC WONDER (External Link)

The CDC Wonder provides a single point of access to a variety of CDC reports, guidelines and numeric public health data. Queries can be made into the following areas: AIDS, Census, Fatal Accident Reporting, Flouridation census, Healthy People 2000, Health reform activities report, Injury research information system, Microfiche AIDS, Mortality, Natality, Population/ census state projections, Prevention guidelines, Primary care models that work, PUBS, SEERS, Sexually transmitted diseases morbidity, TB mortality. Many queries can be limited to state and county (i.e. Maine- Aroostook).

To use CDC Wonder you must first obtain a temporary anonymous user password and I.D. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Click above on CDC Wonder.
  • Select searches and queries and click on Anonymous Account I.D.
  • You should now see "Anonymous User Account Creation".
  • Provide the demographic information requested and click on bar labeled "anonymous user account".
  • You should now see your new anonymous user account I.D. and pass word- WRITE THESE DOWN!
  • Click on "login" at bottom of screen.
  • You should now see the CDC WONDER main menu. SEARCH AWAY!!!

Query responses can be E-mailed to you. To do this simply enter your E-mail address at appropriate point once query is complete and click on "send mail".
