The town of New Canada also utilizes neighboring Fort Kent's recreational facilities, including their Recreation and Parks Department.
Some highlighted programs offered throughout the year include pee-wee basketball & pee-wee soccer co-ordinated with the UMFK basketball
and soccer teams. A Christmas party, co-ed soccer for 4,5,and 6 grades, Messy hands for 36 year olds, 4, 5, and 6 grade boys and girls
basketball and all star teams, men's basketball, window painting contest, grade 3-8 hockey teams, mardi gras volley ball tournament, family
skate night, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, adult open hockey, high school open hockey, adult volleyball and dog obedience.The summer
programs include swim lessons, basketball, soccer, drama,, tennis, men and women softball league, arts & crafts and t-ball.The spring season
opens with Little League that is sponsored by local business and organizations. . Swimming pool general swim is open afternoons, evenings,
and weekends. When the weather cooperates the pool is filled to capacity on most days. Jalbert Park skating rink has seen full crowds of 100+ on
a good weekend.
