Bangor Daily News

The Bangor Daily News is delivered on a daily basis by mail or by pick up at one of three convenient stores in the area. There is no paper boy who would normally make door to door stops.

St. John Valley Times

The St. John Valley Times is published weekly. It is published in Madawaska and provides the area with more local news than the Bangor Daily News.

Radio

There are no radio stations in New Canada. However, Channel X radio broadcasts from Madawaska and can be received in New Canada. NPR can also be received in the New Canada locale. There are several other radio stations broadcast from the Presque Isle area and tune in is very clear in the surrounding area. Channel X radio provides public service announcements that are played two to three times per hour. Health updates arrive in CD pre-packaged programs and they are broadcast once per day.

Television

Cable television is available. It provides three major networks and PBS. WAGM in Presque Isle covers the area's news. Channel 4, a new channel put out exclusively for Fort Kent and it's surrounding areas (which includes New Canada) by Frontier, also provides the area with public service announcements. Frontier broadcasts videos of local community interest.

ITV

ITV (interactive television) is available at nearby Wallagrass Elementary School. It is also received through Fort Kent.

Cellular Telephone

Unicel has recently erected a cellular phone tower in Wallagrass which covers approximately a fifteen mile radius. This enables local employees of cellular phones a wider range and better quality reception because of it's close proximity to other local area towers.
