ITHCRA Project

The community of New Canada is located app. 7 miles South of the town of Fort Kent... in the St. John Valley....... in Aroostook County..... in the state of Maine....... in the USA....on the planet Earth.

In only go to such elaborate lengths to explain the location of New Canada (a.k.a. Daigle) for it is not only a community in and of itself, it is also part of a greater community.... and an even greater community..... and so on and so forth. You will find as you navigate the information in this site, that the focus is not only on information specific to New Canada; neighboring communities, Aroostook County, the State of Maine, and in some cases, the country as a whole are also explored. Why? Well... it is not only in New Canada where the needs of the residents are being met. I might add, that I did not always know what I was looking for as I was searching the net for the hotlinks contained in this site. Most of my discoveries were quite serendipitous. And, need I say that I have only scratched the surface? I would encourage you to go in search of more information for I am quite sure that you too will stumble across some fascinating tidbits of your own.

Bonne Chance & Happy Trails!

The St. John Valley

I live in a beautiful place

That brings wonder and joy to my face

The St. John Valley is where I live

Beautiful memories it does give

Wading in unpolluted water

On slippery rocks, teeter-totter.

Dark green pine trees of Maine wood

If I could keep it this way I would.

The swaying lupines in the meadow

Seem to reach for the sun as they grow.

French people, a helping hand they will lend

They will always be your friend.

Historical sites are fun to explore

Going through the old front door.

Rocky and jagged riverbanks are fun to climb

And there isn't a lot of crime.

The smell of green fields of potatoes are in the air

And potato bugs are everywhere.

In the St. John Valley there's lots to do

For me and for you.
