What can I expect when I report?


Doctors and all other reporters can expect that their reports will be completed through an intake unit at 1-800-624-8404 and forwarded immediately to the appropriate regional DHHS office. The reporter will be contacted by the caseworker assigned the case or the casework supervisor for more information.

Adult Protective Services interventions include:
  • Investigating reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation.

  • Arranging services to help make adults safe.

  • Arranging services to allow adults the most personal freedom possible.

  • Seeking guardianship and/or other legal protection for adults who are unable to make decisions for themselves and have no family member or friend to help them.
