Sweeney Todd

Wednesday, February 25 at 7:00pm
Hutchins Concert Hall

Going to the barber was never this scary. But then, most barbers aren’t like Sweeney Todd, the legendary demon barber of Fleet Street. Stephen Sondheim’s bone-chilling, heart-pounding, and Tony-winning musical thriller is the darkly comic tale of the unjustly imprisoned barber who returns to London seeking revenge on the lecherous judge who imprisoned him and stole his wife. Performed without an orchestra but with actor-instrumentalists performing Sondheim’s ingenious score from the stage, this is the all-new restaging that amazed Broadway and inspired Tim Burton to create his Oscar-winning film.
