No direct federal or state appropriations support performances or outreach programs. $200,000 must be raised from private individuals, corporations, and foundations each year to support the programs and performances at the Center. Friends become partners—investors in the performing arts—enriching their lives and the lives of the community. As an MCA Friend, you reach out and make a difference in many ways:
- You underwrite live performances for school children from all over Maine.
- You help provide the very best performances from around the world… performers and companies who bring their vision, artistic talent, and unique perspectives to Maine.
- You help bridge the gap between the actual cost of presenting an event and the 60% covered by ticket sales.
- You provide opportunities for community and visiting artists to develop new works, and to rehearse and perform on the MCA stage.
- You help maintain a first-rate theatre so the curtain goes up, night after night.
- You help bring joy and meaning into the lives of people in our community who otherwise might not experience live performances.

Give Through Your Business or Organization
Your business or organization will receive an agreed upon number of complimentary tickets to your sponsored performance and will have the opportunity to host, at the MCA, a tour and/or reception for your guests in conjunction with your sponsorship. Your organization will receive up to ten copies of CenterSTAGE bi-yearly newsletter, priority ticket service for group ticket sales, advance notice of MCA events and advance opportunity to purchase tickets. Your organization will have a prominent listing in the MCA's performance program, on the Corporate Member Recognition Board in the MCA Lobby for a membership gift of just $1,000. Additional benefits at higher levels include a 10% discount on show-night performance program ads, and more. MCA performance sponsorships include additional recognition opportunities.
