Dr. Wubbenhorst is known in the United States, Canada, and South Africa as a conductor, clinician, composer, adjudicator, and percussion educator. He is recognized internationally as a scholar on the wind-band music of David Maslanka, and his research on the psychological and personality characteristics of music educators and performers is published in the United States and Great Britain.
Following his graduation from the University of Bridgeport (Bachelor of Science in music education), Yale University (Master of Music in percussion performance and composition), and the University of Missouri-Columbia (PhD in curriculum and instruction with emphases in music education and psychology), Dr. Wubbenhorst taught for twenty-seven years at universities in Connecticut, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Utah, and Wisconsin before moving to Maine in May, 2000. He lives in Orland, Maine with his sons Hayden and Connor.
