The Catholic/Protestant Divide in American Electoral Politics (Lexington Books, 2003), coauthor (with Jeffrey M. Stonecash and Mack Mariani) of Diverging Parties (Westview Press, 2003), and has published articles in Political Research Quarterly, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion.  He is currently at work on a project about the evolution of party images in the United States and the rise in political polarization.
