Edward Collins, Jr., is Professor Emeritus of Political Science. He specializes in international law and organization, with particular emphasis on the law of the sea, uses of force in international relations, and the theory of regime legitimation. His publications include International Law in a Changing World (Random House) and articles in the American Journal of International Law, the Brooklyn Journal of International Law, the Journal of International Law and Practice, and the Maine Law Review. The Department of Political Science recognized his contributions by creating the Edward Collins, Jr. Outstanding Student in International Affairs Award in 1997. The award is given annually to the outstanding senior in that program.
