File viewers/plug-ins
Some of the files you can download from our web site may require additional software, depending on your computer's operating system and the software you have already installed.
- PDF files (.pdf – portable document format). These files can be opened by any PDF viewer; if you need a free program you can download Adobe® Reader, which available for most platforms.
- Word documents (.doc). These files can be opened in programs such as Microsoft® Word, Apple® Pages, OpenOffice — and many others. If you need a free program you can download OpenOffice, which is available for most platforms, or you can download Microsoft® Word viewer for Windows.
Some media available on our web site may require a browser plug-in to function. In most cases your web browser will be able to help you aquire the plug-in, otherwise the following should help:
- Streaming video - To view streaming video you will need to download Adobe® Flash Player.
