The primary goal for ITASE is the investigation of the last 200+ years of change in climate and atmospheric chemistry over the Antarctic ice sheet as set forth in the ITASE Science and Implementation Plan (Mayewski and Goodwin, 1997).

Progress: This document contains reports recently submitted to the SCAR ITASE Project Office at the Climate Change Institute, University of Maine, USA, by the national representatives to ITASE. Each report contains a general description of field activities, the location of ice core sites, and a list of references. In addition, national traverse routes are compiled on a continent scale image.
