State College, PA
My name is Timothy Daniel Watson, I am 23 years of age. I was born in Toms River, NJ.
I received my BS in Geosciences from Pennsylvania State University in 2002 and I am now studying for my Masters Degree in Geophysics specializing in seismology. I am also a member of the Trans-Antarctic Mountain Seismic Experiment (TAMSEIS), working for Dr. Andrew Nyblade. TAMSEIS is focused on trying to understand the origins of the Trans-Antarctic Mountains and the Geologic structure beneath East Antarctica. The TAMSEIS project consists of 43 broadband seismometers scattered throughout Ross Island, The McMurdo Dry Valleys and the East Antarctic Plateau. As this is the final year of the project, I am removing the instruments and recovering the data. I am fortunate to be a part of the LGT traverse and I look forward to continuing my research here in Antarctica in the years to come.
